Quinte West OPP – Thirteen-Year-Old Charged with Assault and Theft of Motor Vehicle

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with Assault.

On October 3, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence on County Road 40, Quinte West for a report of an assault and theft of motor vehicle. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival but was located a short time later in another jurisdiction.

A 13-year-old youth from Quinte West, has been charged with the fol lowing offences:

  • Assault
  • Theft over $5000
  • Breach of Recognizance

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
