SARTECS Train with Members of the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Cape Rescue on Lake Ontario

In Editor Choice, Local

The crew of the Canadian Coast Guard cutter Cape Rescue was on Lake Ontario working alongside members of 424 Squadron from CFB Trenton on Wednesday, July 13, 2023.

Search and Rescue Technicians (SARTECS) were lowered from the Griffon helicopter along with a stretcher to simulate a person injured on a vessel.

Given that CFB Trenton is so close to the CCG Base in Cobourg the two agencies regularly train together in day and night time scenarios.
