Durham Region – K-9 Tracks Break and Enter Suspect

A DRPS K-9 Unit tracked a break and enter suspect in Whitby over the weekend.

On Saturday, July 14, 2018, at approximately 7:35 p.m., a homeowner in the Taunton Road West and Country Lane area heard a loud sound in his basement. When he went to check on the sound, he found a man in the stairwell of his home. The homeowner called police and the suspect fled on foot.

Officers, including a K-9 Unit, responded to the area. PSD Flex was able to track the male who was discovered hiding between homes nearby. The suspect was arrested without incident.

David PADIAS, age 58 of St. Clair Avenue East in Toronto, is charged with: Break and Enter With Intent to Commit; Possession of a Schedule I Substance (hydromorphone) and Breach of Probation. He was later released on a Promise to Appear.
