City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Two People Charged with Impaired Driving (Names Released)

On December 16th, 2022 at 11:30pm, Police were called to the area of the Old Mill Park on Kent Street East in Lindsay with regards to two vehicles driving recklessly in the parking lot. Upon arrival, police observed a vehicle leave the parking lot and driving in an erratic manner on Kent St E. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was investigated. As a result of the investigation 29yr old Kristopher Godwin of Lindsay was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus). Mr Godwin is scheduled to appear in court on January 26th, 2023.

On December 17th, 2022 at 01:18am, Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Lindsay Street South, in the Lindsay. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. 24yr old Owen Forbes of Lindsay was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus). Mr Forbes is scheduled to appear in court on January 26th, 2023.
Both drivers had their vehicles impounded for 7 days and their Driver’s license suspended for 90 days.
