City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Fraud Arrest (Name Released)

On October 3, 2022 the Kawartha Lakes Police received a complaint of a possible fraud at a Lindsay car dealership.

Staff at the dealership contacted police after they noted issues in the financing documentation for the purchase of a new vehicle. On October 4, 2022 when the customer attended the dealership to complete the purchase, officers attended the location, upon speaking with the customer entered into a fraud investigation. As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Alexandra Beamish of Whitby has been charged with personation with intent to obtain property and fraud over $5000.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 10, 2022.
