Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Assault (Name Released)

Cobourg resident charged with assault with a weapon after police respond to call downtown Cobourg.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., police received a report of an assault near Third Street and King Street in Cobourg. The caller informed police that an unknown male exited his car and punched the caller. The man was reported to be carrying an axe. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of the police investigation, 28-year-old Kordal Darling of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offence:

• Assault with a Weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on July 20, 2022.
