Peterborough County OPP – Stunt Drivers Charged

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged several driver’s with stunt driving over the past week.

March 25, 2022:

(CAVAN-MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON)-Shortly after 11:00am, officers were conducting radar patrol on Highway 115 when they clocked a vehicle travelling at 162km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

A 44 year old driver of Brampton, Ontario was charged with:

• Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 9, 2022.

(CAVAN-MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON)-Shortly before 1:00pm, officers were conducting radar patrol on Highway 115 when they clocked a vehicle travelling at 174km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

A 66 year old driver of Selwyn Township, Ontario was charged with:

• Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 9, 2022.

March 28, 2022:

(DOURO-DUMMER TOWNSHIP, ON)– Shortly after 2:00pm, officers clocked a vehicle travelling at 160km/h in a posted 80km/h zone on County Road 6.

A 62 year old driver of Douro-Dummer Township, Ontario was charged with:

• Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 9, 2022.

March 29, 2022:

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON)-Shortly before 12:30am, officers clocked a vehicle travelling at 152km/h in a posted 80km/h zone on Highway 7.

A 28 year old driver of Minden, Ontario was charged with:

• Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 30 days and vehicles impounded for 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 9, 2022.
