Cobourg Police – Belleville Man Charged with Sexual Assault (No Name Released)

Investigation into a report of sexual assault resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old Belleville man.

Cobourg Police Service uniform patrol and the Criminal Investigation Branch commenced an investigation into a sexual assault reported on March 23, 2022.

On Monday, March 28, 2022, as a result of this investigation, uniform officers and the Criminal Investigations Branch arrested and charged a 25-year-old Belleville man with the following offences:

1. Sexual Assault, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code

2. Sexual Exploitation, contrary to section 153(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

3. Accessing Child Pornography, contrary to section 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code

The man was released on an undertaking with conditions and a court date in May 2022.
