Ice Jam Cleared from Ganaraska River in Port Hope

In Editor Choice, Local

Things are running smoothly along the Ganaraska River once again.

On Thursday, February 17, 2022 a ice jam just south of Walton Street in Port Hope clogged up the river past the railway viaduct.

At approximately 4 p.m., heavy machinery arrived from Don Oliver Excavating and work began.

Approximately two-hours later the Ganaraska River was flowing once again.

No damage was reported.
