2021 National Short Mat Bowls Championship Being Held in Cobourg

The 2021 CSMBA National Championships are being held in Cobourg between November 15th and 20th. The Cobourg Short Mat Bowling Club (an affiliate of the Cobourg Lawn Bowling Club) is the host club and the Championships are being held at the Cobourg Community Centre.

This is the fourth CSMBA Championship and the second time that the Cobourg club has been the host club.

After practice on Monday November 15th the Championships will be opened at 8.30am on Tuesday November 16th by Town of Cobourg Mayor, John Henderson, accompanied by Councillors Emily Chorley and Adam Bureau.

There are four events: Singles (16 competitors), Pairs (14 teams), Triples (9 teams) and Fours (6 teams). Results from the Championships will be taken into account in selecting the twenty strong team to represent Canada at the World Short Mat Bowling Championships in Belgium in March 2022.

Sponsors for the Championships are: Victoria Retirement Living, Lauria Motor Group, Jamie Milner of Royal Lepage, We-Fix-u Physiotherapy and Foot Care. Cobourg Mazda and MVP Sports.

Spectators are welcome to come and find out about the sport and to watch some fine bowling. Spectators must be fully vaccinated in accordance with CCC Covid Protocols.
