Peterborough County OPP – Vehicle Collides With Pedestrian

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews are currently on scene at a collision on Division Road that occurred at approximately 6:00pm this evening.

A vehicle travelling westbound on Division Road struck a pedestrian that had gotten off their motorcycle and was walking on the roadway. The victim has been transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

Division Road is currently closed between Drummond Line and Burnham Line while OPP members t rained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene. 

The Division Road closure will remain in place for several hours while police investigate. For road closure information regarding this incident, or any other traffic related events please check Twitter @OPP_COMM_CR for ongoing updates.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The name of the victim will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
