Suspicious Person in Amherstivew
(Amherstview, ON) On June 12, 2018 at approximately 5:32pm the Loyalist Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious male in the town of Amherstview. A male driver approached a 12 year old girl on Pratt St, Amherstview and asked if she wanted candy. The young girl ran away and police were called.
The suspect is described as white male, mid 60s with a gray beard, wearing a hat and sunglasses.
The vehicle is described as an older model Dodge minivan silver or white in colour with several rust spots on the lower parts of the exterior.
Th e suspect has been observed driving on the wrong side of the road approaching youth pedestrians. In other instances he has offered rides to other youth, often using candy and similar items to lure children into his vehicle. Police are looking to Identify the male and his vehicle.
