Update – Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged With Impaired and Dangerous Driving Following Collision

Driver charged with impaired driving after police respond to single motor vehicle collision.

Early morning on Friday, September 10, 2021, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on
University Avenue in the Town of Cobourg. An eastbound vehicle left the roadway, struck a fence and a tree
coming to rest on its side in the westbound lane.

The driver, the sole occupant, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Cobourg Police Service Forensic Identification Services attended the scene.

As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Stephen Finnemore of Cobourg was charged with the following
offence

Impaired operation contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Dangerous Driving contrary to section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Finnemore was released with a future court date.
