Three People Taken To Hospital Following Collision in Wicklow

Emergency services responded to a two-vehicle collision that shut down County Road 2 in Wicklow on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Members of the Alniwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department along with Northumberland County Paramedics and Northumberland OPP responded to the area of County Road 2, east of Grafton at Wicklow Beach Road at approximately 11:20 a.m.

It appears a vehicle travelling eastbound on County Road 2 and a vehicle travelling northbound on Wicklow Beach Road collided at the intersection.

A pickup truck ended up in the front lawn of a residence while a vehicle spun out ending up in the roadway.

The driver of the pickup truck wasn’t seriously injured and declined to be transferred to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated by firefighters.

Two small children who were in the back seat of the vehicle along with the driver were transported to hospital all with non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately one hour.
