Past President of the Cobourg Highland Games Society Edgar Carman said the Pop-Up Patio is a way to help re-coup some of the costs of the Games.

“This is partly to help re-coup. The town actually approached us to see if we would be interested in doing it.”

Carman said they are having a “modified” Highland Games in Cobourg on September 10th and 11th, “and I believe that we are the only Games that are going this year east of the Rockies.”

Cost of the Games each year costs upwards of $50,000.

“A lot of that money we have to spend up front, so we’re spending it before (the gates open.”

There is a limit of 100 people to the event but if people wish to pre-book they can at www.cobourghighlandgames.ca/pop-up-patrio-ceilidh.

Admission is $5 when there is entertainment playing.
