Local Artist Celebrates Father’s Day Along Cobourg Boardwalk

In Community, Local

With Father’s Day coming up a local artist has tweaked her fence artwork robin’s nest along the boardwalk in Cobourg.

Jenny Duda has created a number of pieces of fence art along the boardwalk in Cobourg just south of Durham Street.

Over the weekend Duda said added a Blue Jays baseball hat since Father’s Day is coming up on June 20.

“I had a ode to mothers for Mother’s Day so I decided I would change it up for Father’s Day.”

The logo for the Blue Jay’s came from a pair of Blue Jay’s pyjama’s she found at the Blue Box.

“I changed the mother robin and now it’s father robin.”

Over time the material has faded which adds to the artwork Duda says because it give it a new dimension.

“Papa robin is taking care of the chicks now.”

The ongoing weaving project started in April and Duda says she’s put approximately 115 hours into it with the cutting and evolving the artwork throughout the seasons.

“It will keep evolving as we go through summer and into the Fall.”
