By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland
The Town of Cobourg’s Public Works Department will be conducting snow-removal operations within Downtown Cobourg starting at 2 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.
This work will include removal of all accumulated snow downtown, including areas around benches, bollards, litter and recycling containers, parking meters and other such structures.
The department reminds everyone of section 14 in the parking bylaw (Bylaw 080-2014), which says that any cars left on designated streets between 2 and 7 a.m. Will be ticketed and possibly towed.
As part of this work, the Public Works department will be removing snow from the following streets.
King Street between Ball and College streets
Division Street from Covert Street to the Esplanade
Second Street
Third Street from King Street to the Esplanade
Hibernia Street between King and Albert streets
Albert Street between Third and Queen streets
Queen Street between Division and McGill streets
McGill Street from King to Queen streets
George Street between Orange and King streets
The Town of Cobourg appreciates residents’ efforts in parking off-street to allow for safe and efficient snow-removal operations during the winter months. It is especially important that collector and arterial roads remain clear for safe passage of equipment.
