A tow truck and disabled vehicle were both sideswiped by a transport truck that left the scene on Highway 401 on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

At approximately 2 p.m. a flatbed tow truck from Brown’s Towing was assisting a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of Highway 401 just west of County Road 45/Division Street at Cobourg.

Luckily the tow operator was preparing to load the disabled vehicle on the passenger side.  While he was preparing to load the vehicle that was on the should of the highway, when he heard a bang and saw debris scattered on the shoulder and highway. There was damage to the rear taillight, fender and side mirror of the disabled vehicle. The flatbed tow truck also sustained damage.

The transport did not stop after the collision.
