Durham Police – Arrest Made in Human Trafficking Investigation

A 32-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with human trafficking investigation involving an under-aged female.

On Thursday, January 28, 2021, members of the DRPS Human Trafficking Unit located a sex trade advertisement featuring a 16-year-old female at a local hotel in Oshawa. Officers located the female and suspect inside the hotel room.

Bryan YOUNG, age 32, of No Fixed Address has been charged with Permit Person Under 18 Years on Premises for Prohibited Sexual Activity; Procuring/Recruit Person Under 18 Years to Provide Sexual Services; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

The suspect also faces six charges in relation to a stabbing that occurred on January 18, 2021 on Simcoe Street in Oshawa, which sent one male with serious injuries to a Toronto trauma center.
