City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Two People Charged with Impaired Driving

Two separate occurrences investigated by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the drivers being arrested for impaired driving offences.

At approximately 10:15p.m. on January 9, 2021 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 35 near Adela Road. The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of the driver.

Suzanne Walker, 56 years of age, of Norland, was charged with the Criminal Code offence of operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 4, 2021.

On the same date at approximately 10:40p.m. an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Ramsey Road and Ogemah Road. The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of the driver.

Emma Espinho, 28 years of age, of Lindsay, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The vehicle was towed from the scene. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on February 25, 2021.
