Update – Northumberland OPP – Victim Identified After Motorcycle Collision in Cramahe Township

(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Friday October 23, 2020, at approximately 2:45 pm, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Cramahe Township Fire Department, and Northumberland Paramedics, responded to a collision involving two motorcycles on County Road 2 between Ontario Street and Townline Road, west of the town of Colborne.

Three riders were taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital. John RINTOUL (age 67) of Cobourg, Ontario, died as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision. A 59-year-old female from Cobourg, Ontario, who was a passenger on one of the bikes, was transported by Ornge air ambulance to a trauma center in Toronto with critical injuries. The third rider from Clarington, Ontario, continues to be treated in hospital for what are described as serious injuries.

County Road 2 was closed for several hours between Ontario Street and Townline Road while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this collision.
