Cobourg Council – Mayor Urges Support Food Bank Saturday

In City Hall

Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini has set up a friendly rivalry between himself and Port Hope Mayor Bob Sanderson, Cobourg Mayor John Henderson told council this week – but it’s all for a good cause.

A food drive for the local food bank will be set up in Cobourg on Saturday at the Foodland from 9 to 11 a.m.

“If you are able to make any kind of donation of food items for the food bank, you will receive a free pumpkin in exchange for that special gift,” Henderson said.

“I am hoping to outdo Port Hope, but the winner, again, is the food bank.”

Councillor Aaron Burchat said he and Councillor Adam Bureau will also be on hand, their assignment being to hand out the pumpkins.

“I think it’s going to be a great Saturday and a great initiative by MPP Piccini,” Bureau added.
