Northumberland OPP – Charges Laid After Search Warrant Executed in Baltimore

An investigation led by the Ontario Provicial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) from Northumberland and Peterborough, has resulted in two individuals being arrested and charged after a Cannabis Act search warrant was executed on Thursday October 8, 2020, at a rural property on White Road South in Hamilton Township.

The Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit assisted with the execution of the warrant which resulted in the seizure of 529 marihuana plants. The estimated value of the seized plants is $529,000.

Geoffrey HODGSON (age 72) of Baltimore, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:

· Cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four plants at one time in dwelling-house
· Possession for the purpose of distributing

Rosario VISCONTI (age 47) of Hamilton Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

· Cultivate propagate or harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling house (or offer to do so)
· Possession for the purpose of distributing

Each of the accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on November 18, 2020.
