At approximately 10 p.m. Northumberland OPP attempted to stop a 2006 red Corvette that was travelling westbound on Highway 401 near the Big Apple on Saturday, October 3, 2020.

The vehicle didn’t pull over and a pursuit was initiated with speeds near 200 kph.

The pursuit was terminated because of safety concerns and area police agencies were notified.

Shortly after Cobourg Police spotted a vehicle matching the description travelling southbound on Division Street near Rona store.

The vehicle was pulled over by police, but suddenly sped away at a high rate of speed and was later found abandoned near Home Hardware.

The vehicle was heading south and attempted to turn left onto Kerr Street which is under construction, struck the curb and went airborne before coming to rest. The front passenger side tire was deflated as a result of the collision.

Police are still searching for two female suspects.

The Corvette was towed to the Cobourg Police station for further examination.

It’s unknown at this point if the vehicle is stolen.
