A beautiful day for Kris Barclay’s 10 Kilometre Rucksack March to Remember on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Wounded Warriors of Canada Park of Reflections in Whitby.
Participants from across the Ontario including military members from CFB Trenton and CFB Petawawa marched with 50 pounds of weighted packs to raise awareness and funds to support our mental health programs.
The theme was Operation Medusa: a Canadian-led offensive in Afghanistan that took place in 2006 and involved over 2,000 troops.
While a tactical victory that, at the time, represented the most significant land battle ever undertaken by NATO, 12 Canadians were killed during the battle. Major-General (Retired) David Fraser gave a speech at the beginning of the ceremony to discuss the mission he led.
