Cobourg Police – Arrest – Fail to Comply with Undertaking

In March of 2020, investigators with the Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch charged 55- year old Robert Charles Haggerty with several sexual assault-related offences. HAGGERTY was released from custody with strict conditions.

In late May of 2020, HAGGERTY failed to comply with several conditions. A warrant in the first was requested and granted for his arrest.

On Wednesday, August 19th, 2020, the accused was located by Napanee OPP officers and arrested on the strength of the warrant. Members of the Cobourg Police Compliance Management Unit attended Napanee and brought HAGGERTY back to Cobourg.

55-year old, Robert Charles HAGGERTY of no fixed address was arrested and charged with the following
Criminal Code Offences:

1. Fail to Comply With Undertaking – Contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code x3

2. Fail to attend for Fingerprints – Contrary to section 145(4)(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused was held for a Show Cause bail hearing later today.
