Human Remains of a Newborn Found in Pickering
Investigators are once again appealing for any information that might help identify a newborn baby whose body washed up on a Pickering beach two weeks ago.
The male newborn’s body was located on the shoreline of Lake Ontario in Pickering on August 6, 2020 by a citizen walking by. The post mortem examination yielded little information and investigators have few leads.
Police are urging any witnesses who may have information to assist investigators to come forward. If anyone knows the identity of the baby or the mother of the baby, they are asked to contact Det. Alves of the Major Crimes – Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520. ext. 5407.

Human Remains of a Newborn Infant Found in Pickering
DRPS Homicide investigators were called out to a scene in Pickering after human remains were discovered on the shoreline of Lake Ontario near the waterfront trail.
On Thursday, August 6, 2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of West Division were called to the area of Frisco Road and Montgomery Park Road in Pickering after a citizen located human remains in the waters of Lake Ontario. Forensic Investigators were called to assist and a post mortem will be conducted to determine more details about the deceased.
The remains are that of a male newborn baby. Investigators also have concerns for the health and wellbeing of the infant’s mother and are urging her to seek medical assistance and contact police to ensure that she is safe.
Police are urging any witnesses who may have information to assist investigators to come forward. Members of our Public Safety Unit will be attending the scene to search for any evidence in this matter.
