Grafton Couple Livid About Garbage Dumped On Their Driveway

In Local

A Grafton couple were shocked to find a pile of garbage at the end of their driveway on Friday morning.

Debra Westbrook and her husband Larry live Brimley Road South in Grafton.

The couple discovered a pile of garbage and the end of their driveway.

Items in the pile included vehicle tires, old fire extinguisher, old toilet, used diapers, mail with a name on it among other items.

Westbrook said because the way the garbage was piled, she doesn’t believe it was a random act.

“Just from the way the garbage is placed it feels very personal.”

If there ever was an emergency at the Westbrook home, having the garbage at the end of the driveway would certainly impede emergency services.

“It blocks our access to leave our property. So if we had an emergency in the middle of night we wouldn’t have been able to leave our property, or if we had called for emergency vehicles they wouldn’t have been able to get to us.”

“You can be upset with someone but to endanger their safety that really bothers me a great deal.”

Northumberland OPP have been called and are investigating.
