Breaking News – Normal Operations To Resume At Extendicare In Cobourg Following COVID-19 Tests

A worker at Extendicare in Cobourg who tested positive for COVID-19 last week has been re-tested and determined to have negatives results.

Regional Director, Extendicare, Cory Nezan, said in a e-mail on Monday, August 10, 2020 that a asymptomatic worker at Extendicare in Cobourg tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

A retest in the individual done on Friday, August 7, 2020 came back negative.

Shortly after 4 p.m., Nezan emailed Today’s Northumberland stating, “At the present time, we are awaiting the results of a third test on this specific worker, which we hope will confirm the previous negative result.”

At 7 p.m. another e-mail was received by Today’s Northumberland stating, “We are pleased to announce that the latest test indicates that our staff member at Extendicare Cobourg has tested negative for COVID-19.”

“Our normal operations will resume on Tuesday morning.”
