Resident Turns 101 At Rosewood Estates Retirement Home In Cobourg

It was a special day at Rosewood Estates Retirement Home in Cobourg as one person celebrated their 101st birthday.

Joe Bleitzhofer celebrated his birthday amongst staff and residents and even had a special birthday parade that including emergency vehicles.

Bleitzhofer was born in the United States and served in World War II from 1943-45.

The biggest news event of his life was the first man on the moon.

He’s been a resident at Rosewood Estates for a number of years.

Activity Coordinator Melissa Davey said Bleitzhofer is a “super guy” who everyone enjoys being around.

On his birthday even staff who were off came in to wish him a “happy birthday.”
