Male Charged Following Incident at the Oshawa Airport

A 35-year-old male is facing several charges after entering the Oshawa Airport, boarding an aircraft near the runway, and causing damage to a washroom in the building.

On Saturday May 12, 2018, at approximately 8:15 p.m., police were called to the Oshawa Airport on Airport Boulevard. Reports indicated a male was in the women’s washroom and had caused significant damage to pipes and wiring. Prior to this, the suspect had entered an unauthorized area near the runway and jumped into an aircraft that was taxiing for take-off.

Police arrested one male and he faces several charges. No one was physically harmed during the incident.

Chad HOBBS, age 35, of Simcoe Street South in Oshawa is charged with: Mischief Damage to Property Under $5,000; Damaging or Interfering Air Navigational Facility; Interfere Duties of Crew Member and Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited. He was held for a bail hearing.
