Breaking News – Cobourg Police Appealing For Witnesses After Stabbing in Donegan Park

Cobourg Police are appealing for witnesses after one person was stabbed in Donegan Park on Saturday, July 4, 2020.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Cobourg Police were dispatched to the area of Donegan Park for a large altercation taking place.

When police arrived the crowd had dispersed, but one person was stabbed.

A couple who live in the area told Today’s Northumberland they saw upwards of 20 people and at least seven vehicles in the parking lot approximately one hour before the altercation.

The crowd dispersed, but returned to the area and shouting could be heard and numerous people were chasing after others.

At one point the witness heard a person yelling they were going to stab someone.

Paramedics arrived on scene and transported one person to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An area of Donegan Park, including the parking lot is condoned off with crime tape.

Police stated they will be holding the scene until daylight to look for any evidence.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward by calling 905-372-6821.
