Peterborough County OPP – Notable Weekend Traffic Occurrences

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two drivers with stunt driving this weekend.

At approximately 7:00pm yesterday evening, an officer clocked a vehicle travelling on Highway 115 at 172 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.
The 19 year old driver of Peterborough, Ontario was charged with:
Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed
The accused is scheduled to a ppear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 14, 2020.

At approximately 3:00am this morning, an officer clocked a vehicle travelling on Highway 7 at 162 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
The 31 year old driver of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township was charged with:
Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 14, 2020.

At approximately 3:30am this morning, an officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Highway 7 for a Highway Traffic Act offence.
The 29 year old driver from Gooderham, Ontario was charged with:
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
Produce false insurance
Use plate not authorized for vehicle
Operate unsafe vehicle
Use validation not furnished for vehicle
Defective braking system
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 14, 2020.
