Durham Police – Suspect Sought in a Kidnapping Incident

Two males arrested and a warrant is being sought for a third in a kidnapping and forcible confinement investigation involving three victims from St. Catharines.

On Thursday, May 7, 2020 at approximately 10 a.m., a male attended a Pickering bank on Kingston Road and reported he had been kidnapped, forcibly confined and made to take money out of his account. Officers arrived and located the first victim. They also located a suspect vehicle nearby and arrested one suspect (ST.LOUIS) and located two other victims in the vehicle.

A second vehicle involved was located and followed into Toronto, before officers lost sight of it. The investigation confirmed that the three victims, two males one female in their 20’s were from St. Catharines and were kidnapped by three suspects, who tied them up and forced them to withdraw money from their bank accounts. The victims didn’t receive any physical injuries.

On Friday, May 8, 2020, DRPS Officers, working with Niagara Regional Police, attended several residences in the Niagara Region as part of this ongoing investigation. A male suspect was located and arrested in Niagara Falls, a third suspect eluded police at a residence in Welland.

Investigators are advising that this was an isolated incident and not a random act.

Jonathan ST.LOUIS, age 19, of Lawrence Avenue East in Toronto has been charged with Break and Enter; Pointing a Firearm; Forcible Confinement; Possess Weapon for Committing an Offence; Utter Death Threats; Kidnapping; Theft of Motor Vehicle; Robbery and Possess Proceeds of Crime under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing.

The male from Niagara was released unconditionally.

The third suspect, a 25-year-old male from Toronto, is wanted for Kidnapping, Robbery, Break and Enter; Pointing a Firearm; Forcible Confinement; Possess Weapon for Committing an Offence; Utter Death Threats; Theft of Motor Vehicle and Fail to Stop for Police.

A warrant is being sought for the third suspect. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Investigators are requesting that he contact a lawyer and turn himself in. If anyone spots the suspect vehicle they are asked to contact local police or 911.
