Northumberland OPP – Conducting Death Investigation In Trent Hills

On Saturday April 11, 2020 at approximately 10:30 am, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to information that a body of an unidentified female had been discovered in the water near the shore line between lock 9 and lock 10 of the Trent-Severn Waterway.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit are currently investigating the incident with the assistance of the Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS).

The Coroner attended the scene and the body has been sent to Ki ngston where a post mortem examination will be conducted.

This investigation is ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available. This incident is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
