Few Passengers Taking VIA Rail On Holiday Weekend

Only one person boarded the eastbound VIA train from Cobourg on Friday afternoon on April 10, 2020.

What would typically be a busy weekend with the holidays has almost no one travelling due to COVID-19.

A passenger who disembarked at Cobourg wearing a mask told Today’s Northumberland there were three people in the car where he was and Union Station in Toronto had approximately 10 people in it when he boarded the train for Cobourg.
