Cobourg Police – Weapons and Breaches Arrest

On Monday March 30th, 2020 Police were dispatched to a business in the north west end of the Town of Cobourg regarding a male possibly in possession of a weapon. Police attended and through investigation arrested David SCOTT, a 42-year-old male from Oshawa.

Search incident to arrest SCOTT was found in possession of multiple weapons. As a result of the investigation SCOTT was charged with the following offences:

1. Obstruct Police – Contrary to Section 129(a)) of the Criminal Code of Canada (false name)

2. Carry Concealed Weapon – Contrary to Section 90(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (eight weapons)

3. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (knife)

4. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (knife)

5. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (knife)

6. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (knife)

7. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (baton)

8. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (baton)

9. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (BB gun)

10. Possession of Weapons Dangerous – Contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (BB gun)

11. Possession of a Prohibited Device – Contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada (baton)

12. Possession of a Prohibited Device – Contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada (baton)

13. Breach of Undertaking – Contrary to Section 145(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada

14. Breach of Recognizance – Contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

15. Possession of Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order – Contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

16. Possession of Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order – Contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused, David SCOTT was held for a bail hearing.
