Breaking News – Virtual Care Now Available for Northumberland Patients Without a Family Doctor

In Editor Choice, Local

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Sunday, March 22, 2020 – a new website has launched in Northumberland County to ensure our community knows the best way to get in touch with their family doctor, and for those without a family doctor to get the care they need.

With the COVID-19 pandemic and the recommendation that we all employ social distancing, most family doctors are working virtually: talking with their patients over the phone or through video conference. Several local doctors will also be available during specific times to consult individuals who do not have a family doctor, serving as a virtual walk-in clinic.

For those with a family doctor, individuals in Northumberland can use northumberlandcare.com to find the best way to reach their family doctor during this time.

For those without a family doctor, northumberlandcare.com can be used to see the next available family doctor and how to contact their office during the specified times. It is anticipated that a doctor will be available for 3 hours a day, 6 days a week.

Northumberland Care is a collaboration between the family doctors of Brighton, Campbellford, Cobourg, Colborne, Hastings, Port Hope, and Warkworth, Ontario Health Team – Northumberland, Northumberland Hills Hospital, and the Port Hope Walk In Clinic.
