Cobourg Police – Man Charged with Flight from Police

A man has been charged with multiple offences after failing to stop for police.

On the 27th of January, at approximately 12:15 am, Police on patrol observed a man operating a vehicle with stolen licence plates. Police activated their emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, however the vehicle failed to stop and proceeded to flee from police at a high rate of speed. Police were able to identify the driver, and discontinued pursuit of the vehicle.

As a result of the subsequent police investigation, 60 year old Robert Morrison of Collingwood is charged with

Possession of Property obtained by crime under Section 355(b),

Flight from Police under Section 320.17,

Dangerous Driving under Section 320.13(1), and Operate while Prohibited under Section 320.18(1) of the Criminal Code.

Morrison was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
