Breaking News – Pedestrian Struck In Cobourg

One person was rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Cobourg on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

Emergency services were notified of the collision at approximately 5:15 p.m. on William Street just south of University Avenue West.

A northbound SUV struck the man on the roadway approximately 30 metres south of the University Avenue and William Street intersection/crosswalk. It was raining heavily at the time of the collision.

An off-duty paramedic arrived moments after the collision and performed CPR. Other emergency services arrived and the man was revived at the scene and reports say he was talking.

The man was rushed to Northumberland Hills Hospital in serious condition.

William Street between University Avenue West and King Street is closed for the investigation.

Today’s Northumberland will give an update when more information is provided.
