Northumberland OPP – Break and Enter at Two Businesses in Warkworth

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a break and enter to a local business in the village of Warkworth that was reported on December 17, 2019.

Between Sunday December 15, 2019 at approximately 9:30 pm and Tuesday December 17, 2019 at approximately 8:00 pm, suspect(s) entered a business located on the corner of Old Hastings Road and County Road 25. Entrance to the business had been accessed through the locked patio door that had been compromised by the suspect(s).

Reported stolen was an unknown amount of cash, paychecks, gift certificates, and a large quantity of liquor that included two cases of Coors Light beer, multiple bottles of wine, and expensive brands of scotch whiskeys.

A second break and enter to another business located on Mill Street in Warkworth was also reported to have occurred during the overnight hours on Monday December 16, 2019. It is undetermined at the time of this release if any items were reported as missing from that location.

The Northumberland OPP is asking for the public’s assistance with these ongoing investigations and would ask that anyone with information to call their nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
