Pumpkin Parade A Hit In Port Hope

In Community, Editor Choice

Port Hope’s first annual Pumpkin Parade was a huge success with over 200 pumpkins on display on Friday, November 1, 2019.

Critical Mass put on the event after being approached by Barbara Bell who brought the idea to Port Hope Council.

“It’s an opportunity to get the community together and bring the pumpkins out that don’t get noticed that much on Halloween because people are scurrying by trying to get the candy,” said Program Coordinator for Critical Mass, Debbie Beatty.

After the display of pumpkins, Harnden Haulage donated a bin so all the pumpkins will be taken to their farm for composting.

“I love it. It’s such a grass roots, creative opportunity. Everyone is an artist here.”
