A Cobourg resident called police for a possible impaired driver at approximately 9:10 am on August 19.
Police obtained a description of the vehicle and located the vehicle a short time later. After speaking with the driver, police observed signs of impairment and the driver was arrested at the scene and later provided breath samples which were well above the legal limit.
As a result, 50 years-old Port Hope resident Allen Fullerton was charged with the following offences;
. Impaired Operation – alcohol or drugs contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
. Impaired Operation – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to section 320.14(1)(B) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from custody with a Promise to appear at a future court date. The accused also was given an automatic 90-day Administrative Drivers License Suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
