The Cobourg Kodiaks used an eight goal outburst in the third period to defeat the Brooklin Lacrosse Club in major series lacrosse action on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

The Kodiaks are 2-0 to start the season for the first time in franchise history.

The Kodiaks were facing a Brooklin team who wanted revenge after getting soundly beat in Cobourg three days earlier. Both teams came out hitting. Cobourg weathered the early storm but after the first trailed Brooklin 3-1.

The second period was very even with each team exchanging goals in transition. The second period ended with Brooklin still leading 5-4.

Cobourg woke up in the third outscoring Brooklin 8-2 to earn the victory. Kyle Killen scored four goals and added an assist to lead all players. Kevin Orleman was excellent in net allowing only seven goals for the win.

The next game for the Kodiaks is at home on Friday night at 8pm vs Brampton Excelsiors. Tickets are available at tickets@cobourgkodiaks.ca
