Suspect Arrested and Charged with Numerous Break-Ins

Police have arrested a suspect after a series of break-ins and are trying to re-unite stolen property with the rightful owners.

Between Friday, February 9, 2018 and Friday, February 23, 2018, the accused allegedly committed several break-ins in Oshawa, and the City of Kawartha Lakes. The investigation led by members of the East Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, identified the suspect and recovered stolen property from these incidents. As part of the investigation, police identified numerous victims and are in the process of re-uniting them with the recovered stolen property.

Michael LESSARD, age 33 of Harmony Road, Oshawa has been charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine); Possession of a Controlled Substance (GHB); Break and Enter; Drive while Disqualified x2; Theft Over $5,000 x2; Theft Under $5,000 x2; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 x2; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 x2 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x28. He was held for a bail hearing.

In an effort to identify the owners of the recovered property, DRPS has attached pictures of the seized property in a photo album on our Facebook account @Official DRPS. Items include power and hand tools, car audio equipment and personal accessories.  To view click (here)
