Cobourg Police – Female Arrested After Fraud

Officers of the Cobourg Police Service investigated three separate occurrences of suspected fraud. Investigation into the allegations revealed that an unknown female was entering various businesses in the Town of Cobourg, selecting merchandise from inside the premise and attempting to return the merchandise for a cash refund.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough woman was charged with three counts of Fraud under $5000 contrary to Section 380(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. She was later released from custody and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in June of 2019.
