Cobourg Police Going Back To Issuing Media Releases Using E-Mail

In Local

In a release issued on April 12, 2019,  Communications Coordinator Laurie Debattista stated, “it seems as though the notifications on Twitter are very limited.”

“In order to remain transparent, open and maintain the good connections the Cobourg Police have created – we’re going back to using email as a means of communicating.”

Releases will remain posted on Twitter linking back to the Cobourg Police Services website, but media will also receive e-mails.

The Police Service is in the planning stages of “creating a more functional, user-friendly, website which will be inclusive of new features including a “subscribe” button,” stated Debattista.

On April 2, Cobourg Police Service stated, “as we move towards a more efficient and best practice way of doing communications, we have decided to change the process of delivery on our crime-related media releases,” and would be posting media releases on their webisite and through Twitter.
