The Colborne Children and Youth Outreach presented an Extreme Eating Contest at the Keeler Centre on March 14, 2019.
Approximately 30 people aged 8-years-old to 16-year-old came out to the event where they had to partake in 11 rounds of “delicacies.”
The 11 different levels were tapioca, sauerkraut, seaweed, mushroom cap with pop rocks, artichoke, marmite, donuts filled with pureed liver, octopus, meal worms, crickets and the final entree was oatmeal served on pampers (diapers).
First place was Andrew Kehoe from Brighton who received $200, second place was Nathaniel Bell from Colborne who received $100 and third place was Isaac Kerr from Belleville who received $50.
Members of St. John Ambulance were on stand-by just in case there were any “issues.”
