Inquest into the Death of Matthew Robert Cuthill Announced

Dr. Paul Dungey, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Matthew Robert Cuthill.

Mr. Cuthill, 27, died on September 9, 2016, from injuries sustained while working at a construction site in Prince Edward County. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Cuthill’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The inquest is expected to last three days and hear from approximately eight witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at the Quinte Courthouse, Courtroom #203, 15 Bridge St. W., Belleville. Dr. Bob Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner. Adam Zegouras will be counsel to the coroner.
