City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Serious Collision Closes Roadway

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) –  The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a two vehicle collision that has necessitated the closure of portions of two roadways.

At approximately 2:14p.m. officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a collision at the intersection of Valentia Road and Ramsey Road. Initial investigation indicated that a pickup truck was travelling south bound on Valentia road and an SUV was travelling east bound on Ramsey Road when the collision occurred.

The male driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck was transported from the scene via Ornge ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. The occupants of the SUV were transported via ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Valentia Road is closed at Zion Road and Elm Tree Road and Ramsey Road is closed at Ogemah Road. Th e OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit is on scene to assist with the investigation and it is anticipated that the roads will be closed for several hours.
